You guys, I got something for my best friend that was foodstuffs-related and so it was in the fridge even though it didn't need to be there (my mom put it in the fridge for some reason) and I am finally going to see her in like a week and a half, and the thing is NOT THERE.
I MADE IT PRETTY CLEAR THAT IT WAS NOT TO BE TAMPERED WITH. WHERE THE FUCK IS THAT RIDICULOUSLY-SHAPED CHOCOLATE? If someone ate it I will be really mad at my father. (Usual list of suspects for accidentally eating stuff I have explicitly said is a present for someone: My dad, the mice in the walls, me. But I don't count, because I know I didn't do it this time. And the mice are not capable of opening the fridge.)
Why am I still up? Seriously. I have gotten nothing done. ARGH. Fuck this, I am going to go read a book. A BOOK THAT IS NOT RELATED TO CLASSES EVEN THOUGH I HAVE A LOT OF WORK TO DO. AHAHAHAHA. /o\

Whole Foods makes these rice crackers that are the most delicious thing ever and I keep eating them by the package. Which is terrible, because it's like three or four servings per package. But they are SO GOOD. And they make my tongue burn! Which I do not generally enjoy, but with these it is just more tasty that way.
My This is Ivy League CD finally showed up, which was really nice because otherwise I was going to have to email them tomorrow. Like, I had even told myself "If you don't get it, email them on Friday!" and I got it today which was nice because I hate emailing people about this sort of thing. Having listened to the CD three times, I decided to finally put in The Cab's CD, and boy is that a difference. XD
In other news, I have been craving Highlander, except I can't find the few episodes I know I have somewhere, and stuff that's up streaming is . . . well, Hulu has the first season up, which would be really cool if I didn't have a desperate Methos craving. D: I found "Methos" up somewhere but the sound is off and I cannot deal with Peter Wingfield like that. And to be honest mostly I want to rewatch "Comes a Horseman" and "Revelations 6:8" or even "Modern Prometheus" because HELLO METHOS IN PERIOD DRESS IN AWKWARD SEXUAL SITUATIONS. So I have been reading Highlander fic in between working on my school stuff. Or I have been working on school stuff in between reading Highlander fic, really. I KNOW I AM MADE OF FAIL, OKAY. That's why I am posting here and not my other journals, because there are not as many people here to yell at me. /o\

Hey, newborn, did you see the new Pigeon Detectives album leaked?
Also, I totally thought there was a new Iron Maiden album coming out but it turns out to be a compilation. They're touring, though! There are two dates in New Jersey and one in New York, as far as I can tell. Anyone wanna take bets on whether Ray Toro is super excited that MCR are going to be on a vacation at that point? :D I bet he has his front row tickets already.
I really only remember to check this thing about once a fortnight. Sigh.

I'm kind of hoping someone does kill the delegate from Alpha Centauri, just so I don't have to listen to that squeaky voice much longer.
Oh, hey, something else in a green foam rubber suit.
Old Skool Who for the win, really.
File corruption not for the win, though. Dammit, now I'm not going to find out whether the king has a huge ginormous crush on Jo. Er. Except for how he's very definitely going to get a huge ginormous crush on Jo. And who wouldn't, really?

| shitty hush sound icons \o/ |
[21 Mar 2008|11:06pm] |
Well, they're mostly more bases than anything else, although I'd use them as actual icons, personally. Whatever. And yes, some of them are virtually identical. I am having fun with slight tiny little color changes and being unable to decide between them when you can really barely tell the difference anyway.
I'm working on a bunch more. Mostly of Greta. There are about five or six with Chris and Bob as well. The boys are harder because Greta is mostly in beige and white and Chris and Bob especially are actually in COLORS.
( I fully admit I suck at this. )
And that's all for tonight. I'm most fond of the last one, I think.

The Hush Sound - Love You Much Better |
] |
Has anyone else found that the icons on all their entries have been replaced with their default? Even though the alt tag claims to be a different icon? It's not really a big deal, I'm just curious. My icons seem to be showing up fine in comments, but the ones to accompany posts are all changed to my default.
I probably should not have asked my computer to rip a CD and play it at the same time. And now iTunes has frozen. I always forget that the old girl is going on four, and needs a little more patience. Browsing the internet, uploading a file, futzing with icons, and listening to music. These things are clearly too many tasks at once. But I wanted to hear Greta singing about loving someone much better than the other girl in the song. /o\
Somehow I have become vaguely obsessed with "When The Day Met The Night" and really a few days ago it was "That Green Gentleman" and I still am very into that one, but there's nothing quite like a fairytale love story about anthropomorphized celestial bodies.
I'm having trouble getting rid of this background without fucking up the way Greta's hair looks. *tiny fist of irritation*

[20 Mar 2008|11:52pm] |
The Youtube channel on which I watched Never Mind the Buzzcocks this series was removed AS I WAS WATCHING an episode. ;_; It'd be nice to watch these things legitimately, but I fear I would have to be in the UK. Which, not so much right now.
Anyway, I started making icons from the latest Hush Sound video, mostly of Greta. Given she's the main character of the video, there are a lot more useful shots of her. Also, she is pretty and has nice hair. I've got 34 bases so far (nothing's been done to 'em) and about 40 screencaps. I'll probably end up with another fifteen or more bases. If I actually finish more than about four of the icons, it will be quite a feat.
I'm now caught up on Torchwood, having watched this week's and last week's in a row. The latest one was pretty damn good, actually, and last week's, while creepy and generally fairly good, mostly just served as a reminder of why Lucent Dossier freaks me out some.
There are mice in the walls. I can hear them. It's better than having wolves in there, I suppose.

Aside from a little bit of color in certain bits and some smattering of other languages, anyway.
Basically, I saw Persepolis tonight, and lo, it was good. I'm going to have to actually read the graphic novels now.

I think the biggest obstacle to my ever becoming a vegetarian is my immune system. It needs occasional infusions of chicken soup for optimal functionality. Or something like that. I just wish it didn't take so long for the damn soup to cook.
Possibly it would be a good idea for me to pop in around here more regularly.

[09 Feb 2008|04:02pm] |
I started watching Kyou Kara Maou, because I am weak and unable to stand up to evil flisters, but I keep being thwarted by the internet. It is quite vexing. The episodes are all up streaming in various places, but half the time they won't load properly. I'm actually having some issues getting legitimate downloads to work, and pages are being all "Ahahahaha! I shall be sloooooow!" which I guess is what happens when you're on wireless on a connection that's not so fast to begin with.
Yuuri's mom is kind of hilarious. His father tells her that he's a Mazoku, and her first reaction is to ask him if he's got wings. She is clearly a fangirl at heart.

*tackles cinnamonblood* HI! (You're the only one reading this right now, and that's totally okay.)
I went away for several days, brought my writing journal with me, and did not write a damn thing. I also brought two books with me and managed to read about three chapters of one of them, although I did read two other books and a number of comics. And I picked up about six other books to read as well. Luckily, five of them belong to a friend I won't be seeing again too soon (that part is not lucky), so I can read them at my leisure! TRASHY ROMANCE NOVELS, YAYE. It has been a long time since I read any of those. It's like really long badfic that I can actually curl up with on a couch somewhere. Also the sex scenes are better.

I don't think this icon is quite up to snuff, but I, predictably, find it hilarious. Am total loser. Whatever.
It's true, at any rate.

You know, I got a "Happy Birthday!" email from IJ yesterday.
It was kind of awesome. :)
Am not quite sure what I'm going to do with this journal. I'll figure it out eventually, I guess. Once I don't have quite so much else on my plate.
